The Georgia Tech Broadband Institute hosted some 40 cable executives from all over the country on March 1 in the Technology Square Research Building in Midtown. Their annual winter conference happened to be in Atlanta this year, and CableLabs asked if the Institute would take this opportunity to acquaint these executives with its latest research on broadband and television. The list of demos (below) constituted a sampling of our activities in this area, and it provided an appropriate centerpiece to a significant networking event as we engaged the nation’s cable industry in a single setting. Among our guests was the CEO of Cablelabs, the CTO of the Society of Cable and Television Engineers (a GT-Alum) and representatives of many cable companies, including Comcast, Time Warner and Cox.
