About OTP

The Office of Technology Policy and Programs (OTP) undertakes policy research, increasing Georgia's ability to contribute to the global dialogue on advanced technology policy. OTP furthers the work of GCATT centers, the State, and contributes to the national and international arena. OTP initiatives leverage the knowledge and resources of government, legislative and regulatory agencies, leading industry decision-makers, and the research universities of the Georgia Research Alliance to address vital issues such as spectrum management, disability access, information security, and privacy. These efforts not only support the research of the individual GCATT research centers, but also serve as a State and national resource.

The objectives of OTP are:

  1. To operate as a neutral authority to conduct focused research on advanced technology policy;
  2. Monitor and assess regulatory and legislative issues that impact the technology policy landscape; and
  3. Provide leadership for technology policy programs and activities.
